Roatán Takes Global Stage as Tim Draper Brings Million-Dollar Pitch Competition to Próspera Zone

March 3, 2025

ROATAN, HONDURAS - March 3, 2025 - The legendary venture capitalist Tim Draper is coming to Honduras to film an episode of "Meet the Drapers" in Próspera Zone. The TV show reaches40 million viewers worldwide.

Four contestants have been selected by the Draper team, to pitch Tim Draper and a panel of judges, in a “Shark Tank” type competition. The winner will enter the final stage in San Francisco, where they can compete for an investment of $1million, $500,000 to the second-place finalist, and $250,000 to the third-place contestant.

The initial selection for the competition drew more than 150 startups from Honduras and around the world. Among the four finalists is Honduran entrepreneur Juan Mayen, founder of "Blink," a venture that began as a Bitcoin wallet in neighboring El Salvador. The remaining three finalists—innovators in biotechnology, regenerative medicine, and financial services—have chosen Próspera Zone over Silicon Valley as their base of operations, due to the zone’s innovative legal framework.

"The strong response to this competition showcases Honduras' entrepreneurial potential," said Erick Brimen, CEO at Próspera. "We're proud to see four companies, all registered in Honduras, advance to pitch to Tim and Adam Draper.” This continues Próspera and Infinita’s momentum of attracting global tech leaders like Brian Armstrong, Naval Ravikant, and Bryan Johnson to create opportunities for Honduran innovators.

Following the main event, five additional Honduran founders will pitch privately to Tim and Adam Draper through Infinita's Startup Residency Program. The program is an opportunity for local entrepreneurs to access international venture capital and receive training to become investment-ready.
